Potato onions are a fantastic, tasty addition to your veggie garden. Each individual onion planted multiplies during the season usually forming a clump of between 8 and 14 more onions. Think of them like garlic cloves, plant one and get a whole bulb at harvest time! We find them to be a fairly low maintenance but highly rewarding crop to grow.
Hold onto some of your onions replant for the next season and use the rest in your culinary delights. They are particularly good in stews and casseroles and taste amazing caramelised. These also make wonderful gifts for friends and family!
On the farm we plant in June or July and harvest in summertime when the tops die down. Grown on our farm in Judbury, Tasmania.
These onions are ready to plant now and are supplied as a bulk set of 100 potato onions in compostable brown paper packaging. Please note that some of these onions are on the smaller side, however, they will perform AOK! Shipping is on us.
